Goodbye Horses reminds me of Sónar 3 years ago, which also was when Barcelona started to change. We were having a good time at the beach parties @ Marbella when the cops started to grab the party from helicopters and then shut it all down at 8pm instead of 1am… That night we ended up in a friends flat with goodbye horses on repeat talking about how the night was changing, less locals, limited opening hours etc and that was just the beginning. Barcelona now a days isn’t was it used to be… That beach party became the last in the center, now you have to go outside town to Playa del Prat to enjoy barefoot dancing in the sunset and good music for free. This year the Friday belongs to Bpitch, Saturday to Miss Kittin and friends and Sunday to M-nus which means no disco but a lot of good techno…

One of my favourite labels, Factor City, released their 29th reference yesterday. Te guardo una tarde de sol from Holger Zilske, Dave DK and El Txef A with remixes from Metope, Undo and Shelby Grey. I like the unexpected collaboration from the germans with the young spanish Txef, they were supposed to do a remix but ended up with a new track. The remix from Shelby Grey is my favourite, after listening to his promos I find him one of the most interesting producers in Spain with his special sound. His first E.P will be released at the end of the summer, also that one on Factor City so stay tuned.

While trying to finish my last essay (at least for some months…) and realizing that I probably won’t make it to Primavera Sound  I try to keep my mood up by thinking that’s only 9 days left until Edwin Van Cleef’s coming back to Barcelona and Razzmatazz and that there’s only 22 to Sónar (I’ll do a post later on with the events that you shouldn’t miss). I’m not sure if it works or not, but good music is definitely a helping hand for late nights and early mornings with boring books and excel’s…
